Chapters

The Order is divided operationally on the territory through the establishment of national and regional Chapters, governed as Responsible by a Knight or Dame of high rank of that Country or Region, appointed every four years by the Sovereign Grand Master. He/she represents the Order in accordance with the guidelines established by the General Council, draws up an annual program of activities, proposes names of deserving persons to nominate as Knights and Dames.
If the number of Knights and Ladies is relevant and geographical distance problems prevent normal life of the Chapter, the Sovereign Grand Master may establish, with appropriate Decree and consulting the General Council, Commanderies or Sub-Chapters dependent on the Responsible, but with organizational autonomy and an appointed Representative responsible. In the event that in a Region there is not a sufficient number of Knights and Dames to form a Chapter, the Sovereign Grand Master may establish, with appropriate Decree and consulting the General Council, a Coordination, also intra-regional, headed by a Representative coordinator.

The Heads of Regional or National Chapters and the Representatives of the Commanderies and Coordinations are chosen within the Order in the Country or Region of belonging; they are Knights and Dames prudent and wise. In their Country or Region each one of them realizes the presence and interests of the Order; coordinate the initiatives of the area that they supervise and promote lifelong learning and charitable activities of the Knights and Dames placed under their responsibility.
